What Beagle Learning records, why, and for how long. Last reviewed 29th September 2026.

Who we are

Beagle Learning is run by Beagle HR Ltd, an HR consultancy based in Surrey. For learner records created under an employer's access code, the employer is the data controller and Beagle HR Ltd processes the data on its behalf. For purchases made on this site, Beagle HR Ltd is the controller.

What we record when you take a course

  • Your name, and your job title and email address if you choose to give them.
  • The course, your score, the date and time, the number of attempts and how long you took.
  • The access code you used, which identifies your employer.
  • The internet address and browser type used, kept briefly for security.

Nothing is recorded until you pass the assessment. A failed attempt is not stored.

Why

So your employer has a record that you have completed the training, can show it to an inspector or insurer if asked, and knows when a refresher is due. Your employer receives an email when you pass, and a reminder shortly before the refresher is due. If you give an email address, you receive your certificate and the same reminder.

How long we keep it

Completion records are kept for 3 years from the date of completion, which is a normal period for training records, and are then deleted. Email addresses, internet addresses and browser details are removed from records after 3 years as well. An employer can ask for its records to be deleted sooner.

Purchases

If you buy access online, payment is taken by Stripe. We receive your name, business name, email address and billing address so we can issue your access code and a VAT invoice. We do not see or store card details.

Where it is stored

On this website's hosting in the UK, protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Only Beagle HR staff who need it can see the records.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or raise a concern, by emailing [email protected]. Where your employer is the controller, we will pass the request to them. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
