Health and Safety Induction

All new starters, including part time, casual, zero hours, agency and fixed term staff, in their first week. Also suitable as an annual refresher for existing staff.

What you will learn

  • Explain the shared responsibility for health and safety between the business and each worker
  • Know the local arrangements: fire, first aid, accident reporting and welfare
  • Recognise the five types of safety sign and what each means
  • Identify the common hazards in their workplace and the basic controls for each
  • Know how to report a hazard, a near miss or an accident
