What you will learn

  • Explain why driving is the most dangerous thing most engineers do at work
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks, and load and secure a van properly, including gas cylinders
  • Know the speed limits that apply to vans, and the rules on phones and distractions
  • Recognise fatigue and the effects of alcohol, drugs and medicines, and know what to do about them
  • Park and reverse safely, and know what to do after a collision
