What you will learn

  • Explain what asbestos is, why it is dangerous and why trades staff are most at risk
  • Recognise where asbestos is likely to be found in homes and commercial buildings, especially around heating and plumbing work
  • Check for asbestos information before starting a job and plan the work to avoid disturbing it
  • Know exactly what to do if suspect material is found or disturbed
  • Understand that awareness training does not qualify anyone to work on asbestos
