What you will learn

  • Explain how fires start and spread, and the three things a fire needs
  • Recognise the common fire hazards in their workplace and how to prevent them
  • Know what to do on discovering a fire and on hearing the alarm
  • Identify the types of fire extinguisher and which fires each can and cannot be used on
  • Understand their own responsibilities and the role of fire wardens
